Two fragments survive as windows into the work's earlier life: the photograph itself, surfacing beneath the paint, and a silver-blue magazine cutout embedded within the black mass — its interior touched with lavender and goldenrod, reflective and quietly insistent against the surrounding field of cream and grey.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"_p_1x4zg_107\"\u003e\u003cmeta charset=\"utf-8\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003e\u003cem\u003eSmokestack\u003c\/em\u003e suits spaces that can hold a strong focal point: an entryway, reading room, or study.
