Interlude is an original, one-of-a-kind mixed media work on paper — a layered composition of original 35mm photography, tissue paper, found paper, acrylic, tempera, colored pencil, and graphite that rewards close looking. Measuring 18" × 24", this piece moves between structure and dissolution, its planes of violet, slate, and acid yellow held together by an intuitive, process-driven hand.
No two moments in this work read the same way twice. Collaged fragments of found and photographic material surface beneath translucent washes, while gestural mark-making in graphite and tempera traces the artist's direct engagement with the surface. The result is a work that feels both architectural and intimate — equally at home in a curated gallery wall, a design-forward living space, or a serious art collection.
