Monument is an original mixed media collage by Philadelphia artist Libby Saylor featuring stacked architectural and organic forms — arched planes of blush pink and cool stone grey, a vivid teal object anchoring the center, and bursts of electric blue, amber, and violet — assembled into something that feels both ancient and immediate. Set against a deep field of near-black, the layered forms create a sense of quiet monumentality, as if fragments of landscape and structure have been gathered and held still. A bold, one-of-a-kind statement piece, Monument brings chromatic intensity and grounded presence to any curated interior — ideal for designers seeking art that commands a wall without overwhelming a room.

Sourced from Libby's own 35mm film photography shot on a manual camera, Monument begins with a found object — a ceramic tile discovered in the yard, photographed as part of an ongoing series capturing everyday things found in the natural world. That image became the seed of a painting, transformed through layered mixed media into something entirely new. Intuitively assembled on 120 lb Legion Stonehenge Paper, the work traces the quiet alchemy of turning the overlooked into the monumental.
